leaving the STONE AGES!

so, this is my last post before getting my new camera...i have been relying on a little point-and-shoot that really limits creativity from a photographers standpoint and pictures that i find on the web.
i am so excited to have the opportunity to explore and work with my own product photo shoots and expand my business on the internet.
with all of that said, i have been thinking about what i want to post that will express this big launch out of the stone ages, and i have decided to post what i find to be inspirational businesses found online.  these sites not only inspire me creatively for my business, but also for my home and wardrobe.

green theme!

learning to wait
living with contentment
pressing forward
future ideas and plans

so much to plan for, pursue, explore and discover

january always leaves me feeling hopeful for what the new year will bring, seeking the horizon for what lies ahead and a bit intimidated about the possibility of things to accomplish...

{ what happens when we take down an old house or barn }

next step in the process...
everything salvaged is de-nailed, sorted, cleaned and then becomes part of a vintage lumber yard

now we create and wait for buyers.

new avenues and direction for business
2111 THEME:  GREEN
design & supply

{i love the look of this pantry}
the chalkboard walls, wide trim baseboards and trim and the reclaimed sliding door...
this would look great in my house!
this would also be a great job to source out, and we can provide the reclaimed door and the reclaimed lumber for the trim and base boards.

reclaimed beaded board is another product we offer
it is often applied to the ceiling or installed as wainscoting.
{ i think it looks so great with some of the original paint left on it }

 and my favorite aspect of the business...
{ WOOD FLOORING }
it adds warmth and richness to any room.
also shown in the photos above are beams, mexican doors and furniture made of reclaimed lumber.
we happily supply and creatively work with you on design to fill your home with the products we offer.

2011 {happy new year} life . plans

i remember being in middle school and keeping a journal.  one of the favorite questions to answer and write about was, "what do you think it will be like in the year 2000."  things like flying cars, living on the moon in space suits and robot house keepers were the frequent answers.

well, here we are 11 years in to 2000 and we now know our answers should have been based around technology, like iphones that link us to the internet and allow us to have music, internet and telephone service basically worldwide.  nooks and kindles that download books for reading anywhere and at anytime, and gps devices to prevent people like me, without a sense of direction, from getting lost in this world.

i think overall the things in life that are truly important and really matter haven't changed all that much.
we are still free humans walking around this life dependent on God's glory and grace in our lives every day.  seeking and searching a journey that is fulfilling and lasting, one that leaves an imprint on the lives of others.  involvement in a community, true friendships, learning to love deeply, becoming transparent.

compilation of plans for 2011...
1. have positive direction and plans for our business
2. go on more dates with marlowe
3. spend more time at estate sales, antique malls, thrift stores
4. flow creatively, be on the lookout for inspiration
5. get this blog stuff going
6. etsy . etsy . etsy
7. play outside, read outside, sleep outside, eat outside
8. solidify school plans for noah
9. healthy eating and exercise
